			<title>Mark Chapter 8</title>
			<itunes:author>Jon Larson</itunes:author>
			<itunes:subtitle>Mark Chapter 8</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>Sometimes, we assume that all it takes is one touch of Jesus for everything to be as it should be.
However, in Mark Eight we find an account of two touches of Jesus being required. So the question is,
“What’s the bench-mark for knowing if another touch is required?” The answer is, if we see anything like,
“Men as trees walking,” obviously our Lord truly desires to give us the required additional touch.
There’s a lot of action going on in Mark Eight, including feelings of deja vu, the usual wisenheimers,
warnings about the leaven inherent in wisenheimers, one particularly really excellent answer, one
particularly really awful rebuke, one major wake-up call, topped off with a extremely concise summary of
what Jesus requires of his disciples. Mark Eight was written over two thousand years ago, but its lessons
are timeless. Come and share in the action.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>"How to attain and maintain a healthy spiritual disciple’s heart. Athletes that have achieved
greatness in their sport all have several things in common: Xtreme workouts, disciplined diets,
and a heart set on being the best. We sometimes emulate those athletes hoping if we follow their example,
we will get the same results. It might be great to "Be Like Mike", but how much better is it to
				"Be Like Christ"?

As disciples, just like the greatest athletes of our time, we must take on an
Xtreme Training regimen; but if our hearts are not in shape and set on the ultimate goal, we will never

<itunes:summary>On this Mother's Day we would like to honor the sisters in our church by talking about two very
special women in Jesus' life, his good friends Martha and her sister Mary. Martha, of course, was the older
and busier sister. She spent her time scurrying about the house, preparing an exquisite dinner for Jesus
during his visit, while Mary spent her time sitting at Jesus' feet hanging on to every word he spoke.
What did Jesus have to say about each of them? Do you find yourself identifying with one of the sisters

<itunes:summary>Matthew 28:19 and 20 is commonly referred to as the "Great Commission". Just as commonly, it is thought to be the directive to evangelize the nations. But is that it?
What makes this commission "great" is that it is an imperative from our King and Lord to "make disciples?" All that we do as Christian people and as Christian churches is to be focused on this end! Those whom Jesus has made His disciples are to make others, His disciples.
Faith, Evangelism, and even Salvation itself is only a step in the process of being and making disciples because making disciples is our calling and goal.
